What's the difference between 2D and 3D maps?
3D maps have three different layers (4–12mm thick) creating beautiful depth and dimension. 2D maps have one single layer (4mm), offering a sleek, minimalist look.
What's the difference between Blank and Prime maps?
Blank maps come without country names engraved, giving you a clean canvas to mark destinations yourself. Prime maps include engraved country names for an instantly readable, finished look.
Wooden vs Colored maps — what's the difference?
Wooden maps showcase the natural wood grain in warm tones. Colored maps use stained layers for contrasting continents and oceans while keeping the same handcrafted wood construction.
What comes included with my map?
Every map ships with a mounting kit (screws and nails), an installation guide, and care instructions. Optional accessories like LED backlighting can be added at checkout.
Can I customize the language of country names?
Yes. On Prime maps you can choose the language of country names during configuration. Available languages depend on the map model — check the product page for options.
Sizing & Installation
Which size should I choose?
As a rule of thumb: S suits desks and small walls, M works well above a sofa or bed, and L–XL make a strong statement on large feature walls. Use the size guide on each product page for exact dimensions.
How do I mount my wooden map?
Use the included mounting kit. Mark hole positions with the paper template (if provided), drill, insert wall plugs where needed, then hang the map. Full step-by-step instructions are in the installation guide.
How many mounting holes do I need?
It depends on the size. Smaller maps typically need 2–4 points; larger maps may need 6 or more for even support. Exact counts are listed in the installation guide for your model.
Can I remove and remount my map later?
Yes. Carefully lift the map off the mounts, keep the hardware, and remount using the same holes or new ones if you change location. Avoid forcing pieces to prevent wood damage.
World Maps
Which world map should I buy first?
If you want depth and a statement piece, start with a 3D world map in M or L. Prefer a lighter look or smaller budget — choose a 2D map. Both are handcrafted and ship with mounting hardware.
Do your world maps show all countries?
Yes. Our world maps include all countries as individual pieces. Some smaller islands may be grouped depending on the scale of the size you choose.
Care & Maintenance
How do I care for my wooden map?
Dust gently with a dry soft cloth. Avoid water, harsh cleaners, and prolonged direct sunlight. Keep away from high humidity to preserve the wood finish over time.
Is there a warranty?
Yes. All products carry a 2-year legal warranty against manufacturing defects under EU consumer law. Contact support with photos if you notice an issue.
What if I receive missing or damaged pieces?
Email us within 48 hours of delivery with your order number and photos. We'll send replacements for missing or damaged parts at no cost.
Shipping & Returns
Where do you ship?
We ship from France across Europe and to selected international destinations. Availability is shown at checkout based on your address.
How long does delivery take?
Delivery to France usually takes 3 to 7 business days once your order is dispatched, while processing and custom packaging of your wooden map requires an additional 1 to 3 business days. The moment your package heads your way, we will automatically send a tracking number to your email so you can easily follow its journey right to your doorstep.
What's your return policy?
You have 14 days from receipt to withdraw under EU consumer law. Notify returns@creatifwood.com before the deadline. Custom or personalised items cannot be returned unless defective.
